"Tom was a part of a fundraiser we had this weekend for a colleague of ours. I say he was a "part" because without knowing details of the event before hand, he stepped right up, asked questions of how he could help make the event more successful, and engaged with the crowd. He truly added a dimension to the event with his personality and fantastic music. I already knew of his music from other events, which is why we asked him to play in the first place. One gal in the kitchen who could not see Tom, asked if he was on a break and if a CD was playing because he is that good.

It was our first time having Tom at our facility and after his performance I booked him every month for the rest of the year! "Let me start by saying i met Tom about 5 years ago when he was at club 55 holding open mic. From the very first time i met him he has always treated me good. His music is always a joy to hear and he always tries to keep it different. I also like how he works with the crowd . If you have not seen his Flying Solo show you are missing out. "I manage the activities at an assisted living senior residence in Cheektowaga, and my regular entertainer had an emergency and could not make his performance last Friday (April 4th). Tom Bender had recently contacted me regarding getting a date to perform here, but I had no openings at that time. But when my entertainer cancelled I figured I would give Tom a try. Not only did he show up early enough to set up his equipment in plenty of time, he was dressed in a tuxedo complete with sparkling white tuxedo shirt. As he performed, my residents couldn't stop from getting up and dancing, as well as singing along with his contemporary program. Toms show was definitely a cut above the rest, as he sang songs that the residents knew, but not the tired old standards that every other entertainer sings. "We had a company picnic last year on Labor Day 2013 and had booked the Tom Bender Flying Solo Act. Tom came to the picnic with an awesome sound system and acoustic guitar that fit the venue perfect. With Tom's personality and music ability, he kept the party rolling in to the wee hours of the evening. The next work day, everyone complemented on the live music and the fun they had singing with him and sometimes show casing their musical talents. "Tom has been coming out to where I work for over a year now. I work with the elderly in a care center in Brockport. He is a favorite to many of the residents there. They ask me all the time when will he be back. He is very professional from the way he dresses to the way he gets the residents involved. He is very friendly and takes the time to talk with them before, during and after the show. Looking around the room you can see the smiles on their faces, some tapping their feet and many singing along. His songs are perfect for nursing homes and senior living facilities. "I was fortunate to observe Tom Bender's Flying Solo Show at a local skilled nursing facility, and was in awe of his talent! While most of the audience were elderly people, with each song it was as if they were returning to their youth. I realize this sounds dramatic, but it truly was magical. His energy and charisma were contagious; so much so that I requested a booking for a family reunion I am hosting!
